Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has explained why he dropped midfielder, Jack Wilshere from the squad that clashed with Leicester City in Wednesday’s Premier League fixture.
Wenger’s men were defeated 3-1 by Leicester at the King Power stadium.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored the first goal for the home side in the 14th minute, before Gabonese striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled the score line for the visitors in the 53rd minute.
Jamie Vardy scored a penalty in the 76th minute and winger, Riyad Mahrez scored a late goal in the 90th minute to give his side the deserved three points.
Wenger, however, said Wilshere’s wife is pregnant and was due to give birth.
“His wife is pregnant and he had to go back in a hurry – he’s not injured so don’t worry!,” Wenger told Sky Sports.
“I hope all goes well with the baby,” he said,
Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey, who started on the bench against Burnley, comes in to replace Wilshere alongside Granit Xhaka.
Wilshere has made 19 Premier League appearances for the Gunners this season.
The 26-year-old played 72 minutes of their 5-0 defeat of Burnley at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
