Leicester City are set to reject Roma’s most recent €35m (£31.8m) plus bonuses offer for winger Riyad Mahrez, as they want at least €44m (£40m).
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Premier League club is not prepared to lower its expectations for the 26-year-old Algerian.
The Giallorossi had set a deadline of midnight on Tuesday August 15 for a response and it does not appear to be a positive one coming in.
According to reports, Mahrez’s agent has privately urged director Monchi to increase the bid one more time, but the Capital club are veering towards other targets instead.
These include Spartak Moscow’s Dutch international Quincy Prome.
