Georges Leekens has been re-appointed coach of the Algerian senior national team.
The Desert Warriors have been without a handler, after Milovan Rajevac resigned following their 1-1 draw at home with Cameroon, in a 2018 World Cup qualifier .
National Radio and Ennahar report that the 67-year-old coach, was at the federal office in Sidi Moussa in Algiers, where he finalised details of his contract.
Leekens took charge of Algeria for six games in 2003.
He will be expected to forward the list of players for their second 2018 World Cup qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in two weeks.
Nigeria currently lead Group B of the African World Cup qualifying zone with three points. Algeria and Cameroon have one point each, while Zambia have zero.
