The Board of Trustees, BoT, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on warring factions within the party to withdraw all court cases.
The Board’s Secretary, Ojo Mduekwe, while addressing journalists yesterday on the resolutions of it’s expanded meeting, explained that the call was in line with the party’s extant regulations that no matter should be taken to court without exhausting internal mechanisms.
Maduekwe disclosed that various groups, including the Concerned PDP Stakeholders, have agreed to work with the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee.
He said, “We agreed that the National Caretaker Committee led by Markafi should involved members of the Concern PDP Stakeholders group for effective integration of all points of views and indices.”
The BoT secretary stated that two committees were set up at the meeting to engage all warring factions with a view to finding a lasting solution to the leadership crises rocking the party.
“The BoT at the expanded meeting decided to immediately engage all groups, party leaders and members involved in whatever disputes towards a just, lasting and amicable resolutions.
“The BoT will therefore preside over the processes of major reconciliations in our party as part of its leadership responsibility.
“A committee has also been set up to meet with Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff (former National Chairman of PDP) in the spirit of working together and resolving outstanding issues,” he said.
