The League Bloggers Awards (LBA), on Sunday, named its nominees to vie for the Player and Manager awards for the month of April in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The top-flight performance of the managers and players for their various clubs produced a neck and neck race for the month under review which led to carefully going through the figures to reach the eight shortlists.
Four coaches are in the running for the April Manager award. Rangers gaffer, Imama Amapakabo, makes the nominees for the second month on the spin and will have to compete for the award with Kennedy Boboye of Abia Warriors, Solomon Ogbeide of Sunshine Stars and Ard Sluis of Warri Wolves.
The players’ category is dominated by attacking players. Three of them, Okiki Afolabi (Sunshine Stars), Anthony Oussou (Heartland) and Chinonso Okonkwo (Rivers United), are the strikers among the quartet.
Nasarawa United’s Esosa Igbinoba completes the shortlist for the April player contest as the only midfielder in the running.
The winners will be announced this week.
