LAUTECH joins ASUU strike

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso on Tuesday joined the nationwide strike embarked upon by the national leadership of the union.

DAILY POST had reported that ASUU National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi had on Sunday declared the indefinite strike after a congress of the union was held in Akure.

Chairman of ASUU LAUTECH chapter, Dr. Biodun Olaniran, who announced that the chapter has joined the strike, added that the decision to embark on the strike was done in order to follow the directive of the national body of the union.

Olaniran, in a statement entitled: “ASUU LAUTECH joins national strike”, a copy of which was sent to DAILY POST Tuesday afternoon, declared that the strike is total and indefinite.

He said, “In response to national directives as contained in the resolution of ASUU NEC which held in FUTA, ASUU LAUTECH resolved to join the national strike declared by the Union.

“The strike is total, comprehensive and indefinite.”
