Chelsea football club have entered the race for Roma goalkeeper, Alisson Ramses Becker, better known as Alisson.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the West London club are set to open transfer talks with Roma’s board for the Brazilian international.
It claimed that the Blues’ hierarchy will be hoping to leap to the front of the queue by entering into formal negotiations.
Alisson, however, has been heavily linked with Liverpool and Real Madrid amid their respective searches for a new No. 1.
Meanwhile,Arsenal will meet with Manchester United midfielder, Marouane Fellaini this week, According to journalist Patrick Juillard, who has worked for the likes of Foot 365 and RFI Radio Foot.
Fellaini’s contract at Old Trafford will expires at the end of this month and the Belgium international is yet to sign a new contract.
The Gunners are aiming to strengthen their squad with new manager, Unai Emery determined to steer the club to trophies in his first season at the helm.
“The councillors of the #Fellaini Hotel have an appointment at the beginning of the week with representatives of #Arsenal,” Juillard tweeted.
“Selected by Belgium for the World Cup, Manchester United midfielder will be free on June 30th.”
Also speaking to reporters last month, United boss, Jose Mourinho admitted he was powerless in preventing Fellaini from leaving the club.
“I’m still positive,” Mourinho told said.
“He’s important. He’s a player that I like. But he has a different position in relation to other players with contracts.
“We can control other players’ destiny but in Marouane’s case, the destiny is in his hands.
“He knows I want him to stay, the club wants him to stay, he has an offer from us and it’s up to him to say yes or no.
“I am still positive, as he likes to be here, he likes the feeling of the manager trusting him and I think there is a good chance for him to stay.
“But if he leaves, so be it.”
Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, popularly known as Fred, has arrived at Manchester United’s training ground for a medical ahead of his pending transfer to the club.
The Brazilian star is expected to complete a deal worth around £52.5 million ($70m) in the next 24 hours.
Speaking ahead of his medical on Monday, Fred told Globo: “I’m going to talk to the people, meet my friends. I still do not know where I’m going.
“Waiting for him, ‘I’ll still talk to my agents to find out the reality of it.
“I want to focus only on the national team. It’s a unique time, the World Cup.
“We have to try to forget things from outside.”
