LASU student kidnapped in Akwa Ibom State

Kidnapping in the country has taken a new dimension as kidnappers now target  not only the bigwigs but also students.

Information reaching Dailypost says Mr. Dayo Oseneye, a Lagos State University student, has been allegedly kidnapped in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State ahead of the National Association of Nigerian Students’ elections.

A postgraduate student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Paul Abdulrasak,confirmed that the victim was last seen on Saturday morning, adding that all their effort to reach him on his phone were not successful.

However, Akwa Ibom State spokesperson, Mr. Etim Dickson, said that the state police command have not yet been informed about the incident but noted that he alerted his men and asked them to investigate when he heard about the incident.

He said, “I have not received any report, but after I heard the rumour, I called the OC Anti-kidnapping Unit, who also said he had not received such report.” Mr Dickson had assured that all those connected to the abduction of the student will be arrested if confirmed.
