LASEMA workers employed by Ambode govt protest sack by Sanwo-Olu’s appointee [PHOTOS]

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) workers relieved of their services by the management on Monday walked to the Government House, Alausa, in protest.

The 33-man personnel emergency responders whose appointments were terminated last Tuesday were employed by the Akinwunmi Ambode government to work with Emergency Response Unit.

The new Director-General of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyitolu, appointed by the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, allegedly removed their names from the workforce on assumption of office.

“After undergoing rigorous training and putting our best in the service of the agency providing emergency and rescue services across the state, we were just dismissed like that”, one of the affected staff told newsmen.

They marched from Motorways Building to Alausa Government House with placards.

Some of the inscriptions read: “We made Lagos Proud, they repaid us with sack”; “Not all superheroes wear capes, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Rt. Hon. Obasa, give us back our jobs”; “Ad-hoc Staff for Two years now sacked without notice”, among others.
