The money Chelsea may lose following the turning down of Real Madrid’s offer by former Blues manager, Antonio Conte, has emerged.
Lopetegui was temporarily replaced with 42-year-old Real Madrid Castilla manager, Santiago Solari as they keep searching for a manager.
The Times is now reporting that Conte’s failure to agree to terms with the Los Blancos could cost Chelsea more than £7 million as the Italian gaffer continues to pursue the West London club for damages after his sacking last summer.
The report claimed that under the terms of his last contract, signed in July 2017, Conte is entitled to receive his £9.5 million salary for a year, or until he takes another job, so it was in Chelsea’s interests for him to join Real Madrid.
