Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi has reacted to the departure of legendary midfielder, Andres Iniesta from the club.
The Argentine captain paid tribute to teammate Iniesta after the playmaker confirmed at a press conference on Friday that he would leave Barcelona at the end of the season.
Messi and Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez did not attend Iniesta’s farewell conference due to “personal reasons” but Messi has taken to social media to applaud Iniesta’s huge influence at the Catalan club.
He wrote, “Andres, thank you for all these years of football.
“It has been a privilege to enjoy this sport by your side and spend so many unforgettable moments together.
“I wish you all the best in this new stage in sports and in your life.
“You are a phenomenon, on and off the pitch. We will miss you!”
