Laliga: Jordi Alba tells Chelsea star to come to Barcelona

Barcelona defender, Jordi Alba has said that Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata is a ‘top player’ and he would be ‘very welcome’ at Camp Nou, should he push through a transfer away from the blues.

Alba is a big fan of his compatriot, who has struggled to adapt to the English style of football, and thinks he would be a good signing for the La Liga giants.

The Spain international is yet to be at his best form since his arrival to England and finds himself competing with Olivier Giroud for a starting spot, with Maurizio Sarri reportedly interested in signing Edinson Cavani to be his No. 1 striker.

The 26-year-old, who left Real Madrid during the transfer window in January 2017, may not have a future at Stamford Bridge and his agent supposedly made contact with Barcelona in order to secure a transfer to Catalonia.

However, Alba hopes that is the case and would welcome the forward with open arms.

“Morata is a player that I appreciate a lot, he has been a top player for many years,” Metro UK quoted Alba as saying.

“At the end, it’s the club’s [decision] if they want to sign him or not, as with any other player.

“If the rumours are true, he would be very welcome, as all the new players [are].”
