Antonio Conte’s move to Real Madrid was stalled after the Italian asked the club’s hierarchy to make two transfers during negotiations.
Madrid have sacked Julen Lopetegui and announced that Santiago Solari, the club’s Castilla coach since the summer of 2016, has “provisionally replaced” him as manager.
Conte is available after he was sacked by Chelsea in the summer and has been in talks with the Champions League holders.
But according to Marca, the 49-year-old’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu has been slowed down due to his demands.
The report claims that Conte has already asked Madrid to sign a new central defender to suit his favoured three-man defensive system. The former Chelsea boss has also asked for a striker who is capable of leading the line on his own.
This has made Conte’s arrival at Madrid complicated, but the prospect of the Italian ending up at the Bernabeu is not completely ruled out.
