Barcelona shook off conceding in the first two minutes, to defeat Girona 6-1 at the Nou Camp on Saturday night.
Cristian Portu stunned the home supporters, pouncing on Samuel Umtiti’s mistake to open scoring, but Luis Suarez equalized only two minutes later.
The Uruguay striker then set up Lionel Messi to give Barca the lead in the 30th minute.
Messi stretched Barcelona’s advantage with a sublime free-kick underneath the Girona wall and Suarez made it 4-1 before the break.
In the second half, Coutinho netted a sensational fifth before Suarez completed the rout, tapping in from Ousmane Dembele’s cross.
The win takes Ernesto Valverde’s men to 65 points, 16 ahead of third-placed Real Madrid who beat Alaves 4-0 earlier in the day.
