LaLiga: Asensio speaks on Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid forward, Marco Asensio has said that he doesn’t know if the club is now a team or not without their all-time highest goal scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo left the Santiago Bernabeu club early in the summer to join Juventus.

Asensio, however, believes that when Ronaldo was with the Los Blancos, they were always a close team and every player brought in their own contributions.

“Juventus is a big family, but so is Real Madrid. I don’t know if we’ll be more or less of a team without Cristiano: since I’ve been here we’ve always been a team on and off the pitch. When Cristiano was here, we were always a close team and everyone brought their own contributions to the cause,” Asensio told Spanish outlet, Marca.

He added, “I am happy for the minutes that I’m playing and for how things are going, as well as for the fact that I am important for Luis Enrique on the national team.

“He has confidence in me,” he concluded.
