Lagosians are frustrated, desperate for change – Bode George

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George has said that Lagosians are frustrated with the current All Progressives Congress, APC government in the state and are desperate for a change in 2015.

George, a former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, disclosed this in an interview with Journalist in Lagos, saying majority of the current government’s policies have inflicted much pain on Lagosians.

According to George, the policies include the tolling of Lekki expressway, ban on commercial motorcycles, and commercialisation of education through the outrageous increase in the fees of the state-owned Lagos State University (LASU), among others.

He said his party, the PDP was not desperate when it comes to winning Lagos State but that Lagosians are desperate for change and are looking unto PDP to bring that change.

“The people of Lagos State are desperately in need of a new government. They want a change. They are tired of remaining on a bridge for 15 years that has led nowhere. The people are tired. Look at the whole belt of Lekki and the amount of money you pay on tolls. Now get off to Alimosho, Akowonjo area, and you will be amazed at how these ones have been cut off as if they are not Lagosians.

“Government is about easing the pressures on people. But the APC has turned it into inflicting more pains on the people. Look at the Bar Beach. They want to build another empire there. I just pray that no tsunami will come because we will all end up in Brazil.

“I live in an area here in Ikoyi where the Lagoon is higher than the roads. So, how can the gutter flow into the lagoon? The Lagos State government has been constricting, narrowing and sand filling the lagoon, so the water is higher”. “I am an engineer, how can something flow from something that is lower into a higher surface. It is not possible, except you want to use a pump. So, by gravitation, it can’t work. During rainy season, I feel like running away, but maybe because I was a naval officer, I am still surviving it”.

“People need a change in Lagos. They are tired. Go to the markets in Lagos today, one small girl was imposed on the market people as their leader because the girl has a link to the emperor. No matter how long you lie, one day the truth will surely catch up,” he said.
