Lagos rally: ‘Our members stabbed MC Oluomo’ – APC spokesman, Joe Igbokwe

The Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Lagos State, Joe Igbokwe, has admitted that members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers who clashed at the flag-off of the party’s campaign in the state and stabbed a factional leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Musiliu Akinsanya, are members of the party.

Igbokwe, who confirmed that the hoodlums who stabbed Akinsanya popularly known as MC Oluomo, were engaged in a supremacy battle, wondered why they brought the fight to the campaign ground.

He stated this while reacting to comments on a Facebook post he made concerning the rally.

The APC chieftain, while thanking residents of Lagos in the post, said he had never witnessed such a massive turnout of supporters since he became the publicity secretary of the party in 2007.

“NURTW took their gang war to our venue, but thank God it was not worse. We are overcomers,” he later added in a comment.

A Facebook fan, Adeniyi Jones, who mentioned the names of some gang leaders, including late Small Jpron, tackled Igbokwe.

He said hoodlums in the NURTW were members of the party in the South-West; to which Igbokwe replied: “We are not denying they are our members, but must they take their struggle for power and supremacy to our campaign ground to endanger other people?”

Recall that no fewer than eight persons were reportedly injured during the rally, including three journalists who sustained gunshot injuries.

MC Oluomo is currently receiving treatment at the Eko Hospital, Ikeja.

The Police had declared another leader of the NURTW, Mustapha Adekunle, aka Seigo, wanted over his alleged involvement in the bloody clash.
