The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a middle-aged man who was found dangling from a rope  (

photo1 and photo2) in an uncompleted building on Rasaki Sodande Street in Aboru, Iyana Ipaja area of the state on Monday.

Residents were said to have reported the matter at the Oke Odo Police Division.

Investigations by the police, however, have proven that the deceased, identified only as Tunde, was murdered in the early hours of Sunday.

He is believed to have been killed before he was taken to the building.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, saying the police would fish out the perpetrators of the crime.

According to her, “Operatives of the division are going to unravel the cause of death and the perpetrators of the dastardly act. His age and surname are yet to be known and we are looking for his family members.

“But we have recovered the body and deposited it in a public morgue for autopsy. The case is under discreet investigation.”

DAILY POST gathered that Tunde was purportedly strangled before he was hung with a rope to give the impression that he committed suicide; as there were marks of violence on his body, which made the police believe that it was a murder case and not suicide as people were made to believe.
