Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, yesterday, dragged the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus and the erstwhile state chairman, Moshood Salvador to the state High Court, accusing them of infractions on the PDP constitution.
Joined in the suit marked LD/2753GCM/2018 and filed before the court by Barrister O. J. Osinowo on behalf of nine aggrieved members of the party are: the PDP, the party’s National Vice Chairman (SouthWest), Dr. Eddy Olafeso, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The nine aggrieved members are Messrs Ishola Isiaka Shodiya, Ismaila Abiodun Abiola, Kehinde Adelani, Kazeem Adeyemi, Awoyemi Abayomi, Adegboyega Adegbesan, Olalekan Bello, Florence Akojenu and Wasiu Aderounmu.
According to them, the infractions were made during last year’s congress of the party in the state.
Consequently, they urged the Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere to nullify the executives purportedly elected at the congress which had Salvador emerging as Lagos State chairman of the party.
Though Salvador had dumped the PDP for the APC, he joined other respondents to the suit to urge the court to strike out the case against them.
They stated that the claimants failed to comply with the Order 7 Rules 2 and 3 of the High Court of Lagos State Civil Procedure Rule, 2004.
However, Justice Idowu Alakija, fixed September 6, for the hearing of the suit.
