The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised motorists plying Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to take alternative routes as two trucks have broken down on the long bridge causing serious gridlock.
Mr Clement Oladele, the Sector Commander, FRSC in Ogun, disclosed this to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
He said that the two trucks broke down around 5.00 a.m on Wednesday morning on the long bridge close to Lagos.
“Two trucks broke down on the long bridge in Lagos around 5.00 a.m. this morning causing gridlock which the FRSC is removing and sorting the gridlock.
“There is another truck blocking a section of Sagamu interchange, but we are on ground to remove and also just few minutes ago a tanker fell at Ogere, we have contracted the Fire Service,” he said.
He advised motorists to take Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and Ikorodu Road in order to beat the traffic.
The sector commander said that combined teams of FRSC, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) and Lagos Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) were on ground to normalise the situation. (NAN)
