An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court on Thursday remanded two suspected cultists, biodun Yusuf, 22, and Daniel Ademola, 19, in prison over alleged homicide.

Refusing their plea, Chief Magistrate O.O. Olatunji ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Ikoyi Prison.

Olatunji ordered the police to return the case file to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

He adjourned the case until Aug. 20 for the DPP advice.

The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Oladele Adebayo, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on May 31, on Idi Aba Street, Ojota.

Adebayo alleged that the defendants shot Daniel Akomolaye on his head from behind with a locally-made pistol.

He said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 41 and 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, NAN reports.
