The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has reacted to the collapse of a three-storeyed building in Itafaji area of Lagos State.
Many children are currently trapped in the collapsed building as rescue efforts are ongoing.
The children are said to be students of a primary school located on the top floor of the building.
The structure is reported to be a residential building with several apartments.
Reacting to the incident, the Senate President prayed for the safe rescue of the children trapped in the debris.
In a tweet, Saraki wrote: “My heartfelt prayers are with all the families affected by today’s building collapse in the Ita-Faaji area of Lagos Island, particularly the young school children who are reportedly trapped inside. I pray for their safe rescue.”
