The camp of Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the contest for the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship ticket in Lagos State, has urged the party’s supporters and residents to ignore claim by “some faceless groups” that the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has endorsed Akinwumi Ambode for a second term.
Director General of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organization, BOSCO, Tayo Ayinde and Director, Media and Publicity, Olusesan Daini, spoke to their supporters in Lagos on Friday.
Ayinde said, “In order to mislead Lagosians, especially the APC members who will be filing out in their numbers to elect a governorship candidate ahead of the general elections in 2019, the strategists in Governor Ambode’s camp had planned to publish a totally false story about the national leader of our party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu anointing or endorsing the governor hours before the APC primaries.”
The APC governorship primaries will be held on Sunday in the various states of the nation and Lagos will be center of attraction.
Incumbent Governor, Ambode had yesterday declared that he was ready for the primaries where he would face Sanwo-Olu.
