The governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola has reportedly met with governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC so as to get a clearer picture of their vision and ensure a smooth and less rancorous primary election for the party’s governorship ticket.
According to sources, the governor called for the meeting to enable him prepare a list of likely successors in the order of preference.
The private meeting was attended by seven of the party’s governorship aspirants of the party.
The aspirants included the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji; Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and former Accountant-General of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Others are Senate Minority Whip, Senator Ganiyu Solomon; former Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Tola Kasali, former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Leke Pitan and the Senate Vice-Chairman on Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Senator Gbenga Ashafa.
