New Arsenal striker, Alexandre Lacazette, has said that he signed for the club because he “loves clubs with history”.
The 26-year-old is now the Gunner’s most expensive player ever, after his 52million move was confirmed on Wednesday evening.
“I am, of course, delighted and very proud too because Arsenal is a legendary club.
“Throughout my childhood, I always dreamed of playing for this club so today that dream has been fulfilled.
“I like clubs with a history. The fact that the manager has been here for a while shows that it is a stable club, which I like.”
“In my opinion, Arsenal is also the club that plays the best football in England so I really wanted to come here.
“I like to score goals but that’s not all that I’m about. I love good flowing football where the whole team is engaged.
“I want to give 100% every match. I want to show I’m worthy of the shirt. I will do everything I can to make sure we win titles,” he told Arsenal’s official website.
Lacazette scored 28 Ligue 1 goals in 2016, the highest for a French striker in a calendar year since 1991.
