La Liga: What Philippe Coutinho told teammates about leaving Barcelona

Barcelona midfielder, Philippe Coutinho, has told his Brazil teammates that he is considering leaving Ernesto Valverde’s side this summer.

DAILY POST recalls that Coutinho had drawn interests from Man United and Chelsea over the past few months.

Barcelona chiefs are willing to take a huge loss on Coutinho as they are ready to negotiate offers in excess of €80million (£68.8million) for the Brazilian international.

Coutinho is believed to have failed to convince Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde of his ability to secure a regular role in the first team since his arrival from Liverpool in 2018.

According to Sport, Coutinho has admitted to some of his Brazil teammates during the international break that: “I am thinking about leaving Barcelona, I know that it is a difficult decision, but it can be the best thing for my career.”

The report also claimed that the 26-year-old is aiming to be one of the star players in a top European club and is trying to regain the same status he had during his time at Liverpool.
