Real Madrid defender, Nacho has said that fellow teammate, Gareth Bale has nothing to prove to anyone to follow ex-Los Blancos player, Cristiano Ronaldo’s path.
Ronaldo left Real Madrid as their all-time highest goalscorer for Juventus in a £105 million deal earlier in the summer.
Nacho stated this after Real defeated Getafe 2-0 in their first La Liga fixture played on Sunday night.
Goals from Dani Carvajal and Gareth Bale in either half of the match ensured victory for the Champions League holders.
“It’s not a question of him following Ronaldo’s path,” Nacho told the club’s official website.
“Cristiano left his mark on a whole era here. Bale is a really key player for us and he’s won many trophies here and has nothing to prove to anyone.
“Everyone knows they can count on him and I’m sure that he’ll continue to perform well.
“The fans are fully behind Bale and he’s very happy at Real Madrid. We’ve got some fantastic strikers here.”
