The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara state on Wednesday pledged its allegiance to the Senator Ahmed Makarfi leadership of the party, urging Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and his supporters to show remorse and join hands with Makarfi to move the party forward in the spirit of Ramadan.
A leader of the PDP in the state and the Minister of National Planning under the immediate past administration of Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Abubakar Suleiman, disclosed this in Ilorin while speaking at a news conference on the state of PDP in the country.
According to him, “We in Kwara state PDP under the chairmanship of Prince Sunday Fagbemi align with our teaming leaders to endorse and support the Makarfi led national caretaker committee.”
He said further, “As a matter of fact, we condemn the act of brigandage, shenanigans and nasty behaviour being perpetrated by Sheriff and his co- travelers.
“I have no doubt in my mind that Senator Mohammed Makarfi and other members of the caretaker committee are not only able, capable and respected but also experienced enough to paddle the ship of the party to an enviable state, within the time frame given to it.”
