Koscielny to miss FA Cup final against Chelsea after Everton red card

Arsenal will be without defender Laurent Koscielny for next Sunday’s FA Cup final against Chelsea, after he was shown a straight red card in their 3-1 win over Everton on the final day of the season.

Koscielny dived in with two feet into Enner Valencia in the 14th minute of the game at the Emirates and was duly sent off by Michael Oliver.

The France international made the reckless tackle, as Valencia sprinted down the right, when there appeared little need.

Koscielny’s red card was his fifth in the Premier League since he joined the Gunners – no player has been shown red more during that time.

Arsene Wenger will have to rejig his defence for the game at Wembley, as Gabriel Paulista was also taken off on a stretcher. Rob Holding, Nacho Monreal and Per Mertesacker finished the match as a back three.
