Kogi State Governor involved in ghastly accident, aide dies instantly


Reports reaching DailyPost from Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, has it that Governor Idris Wada was seriously injured in an autocrash today.

Sources say the governor, who is in a coma is presently at the State Medical Center.

The accident it was gathered, occurred after the governor was returning from an official assignment.

DailyPost confirmed that governor’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC), died instantly at the scene of the accident, while the driver is also believed to have been killed.

The number of Jacob Edi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, was unreachable when our reporter tried to reach him.

Today’s sad incident follows a seeming trend in the fate governors are suffering in Nigeria . Taraba state Governor Danbaba Suntai, is still in a German hospital, following a crash of a plane he piloted to Adamawa state. Enugu state Governor Sullivan Chime, has yet to return from a medical treatment abroad.

The incident happened barely two weeks after, Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, died along with former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi (Rtd) and four others in a fatal naval helicopter crash.

At the moment, two other governors Danbaba Suntai of Taraba and Sullivan Chime of Enugu, are recuperating abroad. Suntai sustained injuries after he crashed the aircraft he was piloting, while Chime is receiving reatment for an undisclosed ailment.
