Kogi: Power shift realistic under APC – Prince Audu

Kog state All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the November governor ship election Prince Abubakar Audu has declared that “power shift or rotation” would be realisable under his administration.

The former governor gave the assurance at Kabba headquarters of the Western senatorial district when he formally introduced his running mate Hon. James Abiodun Faleke at an APC zonal rally on thursday.

He recalled the pains of marginalisation experienced by the people of former Kabba province both at Kwara and Benue states and will therefore not wish its continuation in the present Kogi state.

According to Audu, the Ebira,Okuns and the Igala who were all brothers from Kabba province were partitioned to Kwara and Benue states where they suffered the unfortunate discrimination and marginalisation .”No one will wish his brother that sort of experience again”

The APC flag bearer how ever assured that as soon as his party takes over mantle of leadership in the state, the process of power shift or rotation would commence, through consultations with all categories of stakeholders across the state to culminate in to a roundtable conference.”The state is for all of us,we can not afford to be left out in the scheme of affairs of the nation,we have to be united”.

On the choice of his running mate, the APC candidate explained that though Chief Faleke,an indegine, who lives in Lagos has made waves in politics and business. He was local council Chairman in Lagos and now in his second term at the House of Representatives.

Audu said the choice was not unilateral, but with due consultation with his people and party hierarchy: “He is young, dynamic, courageous, energetic and full of positive ideas and promising”.

The former governor who boasted that he paid workers their salaries during his tenure, challenged any body who has a contrary view to prove him otherwise.

He promised Pensioners that all their rights denied by the present government would be promptly addressed.”I learnt the neglect by the present government has led to death of many Pensioners. We will address their issue with all seriousness.”

The former governor who allayed the fears that APC government was coming to retrench workers, alleged that rather it was the PDP that has already prepared list of workers to be re trenched due to its in ability to pay salaries. .

Instead of retrenching workers, the un employed roaming the streets and graduates will be employed en mass.”We will create jobs for our youths. I established Obajana for you,but it has been taken over by those who don’t how it came about.Obajana Cement Company will employ many of you” the APC candidate promised.

The former governor pointed out some the infrastructure he put in place in the western senatorial district while he was governor, including roads.water works education facilities, promotion and upgrading of traditional rulers.

While promising to rehabilitate the damaged infrastructure in the area if voted back to power Prince Audu solicited with the people to vote for APC so that they can benefit more of modern development.

Running mate to the governor ship candidate Hon. James Faleke, said the era of impunity in the state will be over if APC is elected in to power.

He said that the “sleeping economy will be woken up” as the state is endowed with resources abundant enough to stimulate wealth and employment for all.

Falake admonished the people of the state to vote APC as Kogi state with all its available human and natural resources can not afford to be in opposition.
