Kogi lawmaker petitions Senates, urges IGP to release report on attacks

Former majority leader of Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Igalamela/Odolu constituency, Hon Friday Sani Makama has called on the Inspector General of Police to release report of thuggery attack on him.

In a petition he submitted to the Senate, the lawmaker explained that he had become uncomfortable with the delay of police investigation into the invasion of Kogi state Assembly on August 1, 2017 by thugs where he was beaten to stupor.

Speaking with DAILY POST in Abuja, he expressed concern over what he called the IGP’s cold feet over criminal invasion of the House, particularly as arrests have been effected on some thugs that were involved.

“I can perceive that there were grand plan to cover attempted murder on me.

“The Police have effected arrest of some thugs, with guns recovered, I am surprised that Police report has not been made available to me since then.

“Keeping quiet on the matter is not the appropriate thing for me to do now as my constituents have been denied of representation which I have the mandate to do so,” he said.

Revealing that his salaries and allowances had been stopped by governor Yahaya Bello for 8 months now, he asked the Senate to prevail on Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission to pay him directly

“In the petition to the Senate, I have requested that the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission which is in charge of payment of salaries and allowances of legislators in Nigeria pay all my outstanding, without involvement of Kogi state government”, he maintained.
