The All Progressives Congress (APC) may have settled for the replacement of its late governorship candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu with his son, Mohamed Abubakar Audu.
DAILY POST recalls that Audu died on Sunday shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the election inconclusive.
A source who was part of the meeting that held on Wednesday at Ogbonicha the country home of the late candidate told DAILY POST that prominent politicians from within and outside the state have agreed to present the son of the late politician as his father’s replacement.
The source revealed that all attendees signed the resolution which has been dispatched to the national secretariat in Abuja onward consideration.
It was gathered all aspirants who contested the primary election agreed with the decision, while the running mate to Prince Audu, Hon James Abiodun Faleke who was reportedly part of the meeting also accepted the decision of the stakeholders.
It is not yet clear as to the nature of the primary that the party will conduct to present the replacement of its candidate for December 5 supplementary election that will put to rest the political logjam in the state.
