Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has reinstated sacked Council Chairmen in the state in obedience to the Court of appeal’s ruling which ordered their immediate reinstatement.
Reports coming from the state have it that the Governor on Tuesday directed the immediate reinstatement of the council bosses and councilors. Vanguard is reporting that the situation of some of the Chairmen who defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, is yet to be defined as the statement directing them to resume office was silent on the defectors.
The affected Council Chairmen were last year dismissed through an order of a High Court sitting in Kotonkarfe. This led the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, to drag the State Government to court over what they called, “illegal and improper constitution of the State Independent Electoral Commission.”
