Kogi Election: I will fight to reclaim my right- Faleke

The running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu, Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in the November 21 Kogi election, James Faleke, while denying knowledge of party’s leadership to broker peace has reiterated that he will pursue the governorship mandate which he believes belongs to him.

Faleke reaffirmed his stance following the announcement by the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, who said overtures have been made to the former to concede the governorship position to Yahaya Bello, who was picked to replace the late Audu.

According to Faleke, conceding the governorship mandate to Bello who never took part in the campaign will amount to a betrayal of his former boss.

Embattled Faleke while responding to the question of what next if the matter is not resolved before the swearing in ceremony on January 27, he affirmed, “I will defend my rights under the Constitution of Nigeria.”

He added, “About the peace deal you are talking about, I do not know who the party has contacted. The party has not contacted me.

“I will still go ahead to pursue the matter at the tribunal. Yes the matter is in court. I have my right under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to defend and I will defend it.”
