President Muhammed Buhari has urged the people of Kogi State to vote massively for the former governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu in view of his past performance.
Buhari, who was represented by his Vice Yemi Osinbanjo at the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship campaign rally in Lokoja on Wednesday, stated that Kogi state can only move forward with the calibre of Prince Audu in charge.
According to the President, the former governor of the state Prince Abubakar Audu was the only alternative to move the state forward in view of the dwindling condition of the state politically and economically.
He said Kogi being economically strategic with a lot of untapped available mineral potentials should not be entrusted in hands of those who believed in sharing allocations at the detriment of the federating entity of the state.
The President stated that Kogi is endowed with resources both natural and human to sustain itsself and some states in the country if well tapped.
National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun in his remarks while receiving 17 local government council Chairmen and their Councillors and other political appointees, stated that “the era of PDP misrule in Kogi state has come to an end”.
He advised the people to shun the PDP for its failure to pay salary to workers and destruction of inherited infrastructure.
Oyegun, who described governor Idris Wada as a pretender who specialised in telling lies, called on the electorate to compare the performances of the contestants in development of the state.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, the APC standard bearer, Prince Abubakar Audu stated that almost all the existing infrastructure and institutions across the state were established when he was governor of the state.
The APC candidate named all the tertiary institutions in the state as well as upgrade of primary and secondary schools structures, as his achievements.
