Kogi: APC stages 10,000-man march in Koto Karfe


The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi local government area of Kogi state, Thursday staged a 10,000 man march to mobilize electorates to support its candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu for the November 21 governorship election.

The march tagged “Ten thousand man march for change” was led by Honourable Saidu Akawu Salihu, a former Commissioner and ex-member Kogi state House of Assembly. Also part of the march were former Council Chairmen of the local government, Honourables Shuaibu Shaban and Suleman Adazigu.

The march which took off from the popular Tatu Hotel in Koton Karfe headquarters of Kogi LGA passed through the Ohimege’s palace and ended at the Koton Karfe unity centre.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, former member of the state house of assembly and leader of the APC in the area, Hon Saidu Akawu Salihu stated that the wind of change blowing across the country has arrived Kogi state to sweep away all vices rocking the state.

He advised the electorate to resist any attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rig the election, warning that if they succumb, their wishes will be subverted.

The former law maker said, “with this gathering that I see here today,the end of PDP in this area is here.”

Another speaker, Chairman Prince Audu Vanguard for Change,Comrade Abdullahi Baba Lauya expressed disappointment in the PDP for failing the people. He said, “people are tired of failed promises by the PDP and are now ready to throw it away.”

Lauya said jubilantly that the 10,000 man march was successful despite all efforts by the PDP to frustrate it. He equally advised the people of the area against been tempted to sell their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) as that is the only weapon in their possession with which they will use to send PDP out of the state.

In his remark, the Director General of Abubakar Audu/James Faleke campaign organisation, Professor Isah Daniel expressed gratitude to the people of the area for the massive support and assurance given to APC and its candidate, Prince Abubakar Audu.

He noted that the mammoth crowd was a clear indication of their determination to free themselves from the un necessary bondage they have suffered through out the 12 years of PDP government.
