Borussia Dortmund’s manager Jurgen Klopp, has confirmed he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
According to German newspaper Bild, Klopp told Dortmund’s chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke that he is “exhausted”. But speaking in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, he said: “It’s not that I am tired, I don’t have any contact with another club but I don’t plan to take a year off either.”
On the timing of his announcement, Klopp stated: “I chose this time to announce it because in the last years some player decisions were made late and you couldn’t react.”
In his seven years at the Signal Iduna Park, the 47-year-old won two Bundesliga titles and the German Cup. He also led the team to the Champions League final in 2013, where they were defeated 2-1 by Bayern Munich.
Reports claim that former Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel, is in line to take over.
