Former Enyimba star, Kingsley Sokari, has said sorry to Samson Siasia, over an incident that happened last year.

Sokari was dropped from the Nigerian squad for the 2015 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal, after he fell out with head coach, Siasia.

Siasia said at the time: “I feel bad in taking this decision (to expel the players from the team’s camp), but discipline must be maintained for us to achieve success in Senegal.

“All players in camp were told not to leave camp as the team would be traveling (on the weekend they were to commence pre-tournament in The Gambia), only for these three players to come and ask to be allowed to go play for their club as they wanted to be part of the victory parade.

“I had no option but to allow them leave and also in the process, leave them out of the team.”

Sokari, who now plays for Tunisian club, CS Sfaxien, has now explained his side of the story, while “apologizing profusely” to the coach.

“The three of us didn’t train on the day the incident happened. The coach was upset and called for a meeting later that day and asked us to leave the camp,” Sokari told supersport.com.

“Looking back now, I know I made a big mistake and I apologize profusely to the coach, my teammates and the fans.

“It is always an honour to serve the country and I hope the coach forgives me and gives me another chance.”
