Former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has criticised those accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of not making efforts to end incessant killings in Nigeria
Kalu said the president had taken new steps to address the killings.
He further referred to those accusing Buhari of being behind herdsmen as having a ‘sick mind’ noting that a president would not kill its citizens intentionally.
He made the remark while speaking at a dinner in honour of the outgoing Czech Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Pavel Mikeš, in Abuja at the weekend.
“It is surprising when people accuse our president of supporting the killer herdsmen. It’s just a sick mind that will say that. It is embarrassing to even hear that.
“It is not possible for anyone directly elected by the people. No president would want to see his people dying.
“President Buhari has taken a new step. He was in Plateau, Benue and other places. He is committed to make sure that these killings stop,” Kalu said, urging state governors to do more in addressing the killings.
