The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Saturday asked the Federal Government to set up a panel of enquiry over the alleged killing of pro-Biafra activists in Onitsha and Aba earlier this year.

The group also called on the government to announce date for ‎a referendum where Ndigbo would be allowed to decide their own fate.

They made these demands in a statement jointly‎ signed by IPOB spokespersons, Barrister Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Chukwuemeka Iroanya, where they also maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari should keep away from the South-East.

The group is insisting that it was responsible for Buhari’s absence at the recently held South-East Economic and Security Summit, even as the Presidency has maintained that Buhari stayed away owing to advice from stakeholders.
