Killer herdsmen: Cabal in Buhari’s govt may attack TY Danjuma – Arewa pastors

The Arewa Christians and Indigenous Pastors Association, ACIPA, has alleged that cabals in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government are not happy with former Defence minister, T.Y. Danjuma for urging Nigerians to defend themselves in the face of attacks from armed bandits.

ACIPA claimed that the former minister was at “risk” and may be “threatened” by the cabals for opting to oppose the current government which they said has failed to protect Nigerians.

In an Easter message in Jos, Plateau State, ACIPA’s President, Rev. Luke Shehu said the call for self-defence by Danjuma had “singled him out as the amiable hero of the persecuted Christians, minorities and all Nigerians, and a voice of countless Muslims.”

Expressing concerns over the activities of violent herdsmen in the country, Shehu said they have become more vicious under the Buhari government.

Shehu called on the next administration to form a special border patrol force, made up of trained patriotic Nigerians, adding that violent herdsmen should either “return to the desert or stop their carnage.”

He also demanded the immediate resignation or dismissal of all service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; and the Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau (retd.).

Shehu demanded that a Christian president should be elected in 2019.

He said, “We are not unaware of the imminent threat and risk such opposition to this government and its cabals may attract to Gen. Danjuma and those of us who share his position as we have since earlier posited. Particularly in the failure to protect lives of Christians and Nigerians in general, we have lost confidence and faith in this administration.”

Shehu noted that Leah Sharibu of Government Science Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, who was still in captivity after Boko Haram released some students it abducted, remained a testimony of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Hide quoted text

“Nigerians cannot be fooled in a circus with the remaining Chibok girls. We also categorically demand the immediate release of Leah Sharibu, whose boldness not to renounce Christianity affirms the faith of Christians the world over and portrays our steadfastness and freedom of choice of religion, rather than compulsion,” Shehu stated.
