Kidnappers release former Bayelsa Speaker’s wife with N18,000, bag of fish

The kidnapped wife of the former Speaker of Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Mrs Martha Nestor Binabo, has been released by her abductors, who gave her the sum of N18,000 for transportation and a big bag of fish for her family.

It will be recalled that Mrs. Binabo was kidnapped on Monday by some unidentified gunmen in Military uniform.

The abductors, who had warned her family members not to involve the police, handed her over to a negotiator at the Buguma area of River State on Sunday, according to a family source.

The 48 year old woman was allegedly released with a transport fare of 18,000 and a full bag of fish.

However, Mr. Asinim Butswat, the Bayelsa State Police Public Relation Officer, said he was yet to get full details relating to her release. However, a family member confirmed her release, saying, “she was well taken good care by her kidnappers”.
