Kidnappers of two Catholic priests in Delta demand N100m ransom

Those who abducted two Catholic priests, Rev. Fr. Franklyn Odiaka and Rev. Fr. Moses Nwanochei in Delta state have reportedly contacted the Issele-Uku Diocese demanding N100m before they will release their victims.

Both priests were kidnapped last Friday while on their way from a ceremony in honour of their Bishop, Most Rev. Michael Elue around Obior, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.

It was learnt that the the abductors contacted some priests in the diocese demanding for N100m before they will release their victims.

Confirming the abduction, the State Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Celestina Kalu, however said the church is yet to lodge a formal complaint to the Police.

Kalu, in a text message to Vanguard, said: “Up till now, the Police command has not received a formal or official report from the Catholic Church.”
