Kidnappers of Lagos RCCG pastor demand N100m ransom

Abductors of a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, in Ikorodu, Lagos state have demanded the payment of ransom.

The abductors on Tuesday requested the family of the pastor, Olukayode Bajomo, to pay N100 million ransom.

The gunmen who disguised as new members walked into the RCCG Abundant Grace parish and whisked away the pastor at Santos bus stop in the Isawo area on Sunday.

The RCCG Head, Media and Public Relations, Pastor Segun Adegbiji, who confirmed the abduction, had said the church would invite God’s anger on those who troubled its members and pastors.

He said, “RCCG will not take abduction or murder of our pastors and members any more.

“We like to warn murderers and abductors that God will show up with anger and fire. He will consume them speedily.”

In the new development however, the Punch is reporting that a relative of the pastor said the kidnappers have gotten in touch and requested the lump sum for his freedom.

“Those men have called. They are asking for N100 million. That is a big worry. The pastor was cleaning the chairs on Sunday with a few members when the men came in. But God is in control,” she said.
