Kidnappers demand N100m ransom for Delta Polytechnic lecturer

Suspected gunmen who kidnapped a senior lecturer of the Delta State-owned polytechnic in Ogwashi-Uku, Mr Tobi Benson have demanded the sum of N100m to effect his release.

Mr Tobi Benson was abducted on Monday at his residence along Assemblies of God Church Street, Off Isah Ogwashi-Uku.

It was learnt that while parking his car, the gunmen pounced on him and whisked him into a waiting vehicle. The gunmen were said to have contacted the wife, asking her to pay the ransom before her husband would be released.

The Delta state Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, while confirming the incident said effort were on-going to ensure that the victim is rescued from the claws of the kidnappers.
