The Romanian Engineer, Nedeclu Christian and two Nigerians who were
kidnapped by gunmen at Railway Village in Owa-Oyibo, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State have been released after about 72 hours in the custody of their abductors.
It was gathered that the victims are staff of Julius Berger who were working at a construction site at Abavo, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer, Delta Police command, Celestina Kalu, who confirmed their release, said the victims were set free as a result of pressure mounted on the abductors by security operatives.
She said: “They were released at about 5:30pm on Thursday when security operatives were closing-in on the abductor’s hideout.”
