Kidnapped Lagos LG Chairman, Kehinde Bamigbetan released

The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Authority, Kehinde Bamigbetan who was on Monday night whisked away by unknown men, has been released.

Bamigbetan’s release was confirmed by the council’s Head of Information Unit, Rabiu Hassan. The former chief press secretary to ex-Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, was forcefully seized near his house in Ejigbo around 11:00 pm Monday night.

The kidnappers had earlier made a demand of $1 million (N156 million) ransom.

DailyPost could not could if any ransom was paid for his freedom as at the time of filling this report.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Police command is yet to confirm whether or not a raid was carried out on the hideout of the abductors to secure the chairman’s release.
