An Ibadan-based lawyer, Barrister Musibau Adetunbi and his driver, who were kidnap on Monday have regained their freedom, DAILY POST authoritatively report.

The duo, who were whisked away by some unknown gunmen suspected to be abductors on Monday, regained their freedom on Wednesday, two days after they were kidnapped.

Adetunbi and his driver, DAILY POST recalls, were kidnapped in Iwaraja in Osun state, on their way to Court of Appeal in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

Chairman of the Ibadan branch of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Oluwole Akintayo who confirmed their release told DAILY POST Thursday morning, said they were released Wednesday night in Osun State.

He, however, did not state whether ransom was paid to secure their release or not.

Akintayo in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, insisted that the head of chamber where Adetunbi works is also aware of his release.

The NBA chairman said, “They were released on Wednesday. You know they were kidnapped in Osun State; they were released in Osun state last night (Wednesday).

“I can tell you authoritatively that they have been released. The head of the chamber has also confirmed their release.

When asked if some money exchange hands between the family and the abductors, Adetunbi said he is not aware if ransom was said.

He said, “I told you. I will not confirm such thing. I will not know. You know, that, who do you discuss with. I will not know.

“But, I can confirm that they have been released. They were released Wednesday night. I can confirm that.”
