Keshi vows to play ‘African football’ against Congo

Stephen Keshi has revealed that he will employ a more practical ‘African’ style of football, to ensure the Super Eagles emerge victorious against Congo, in this weekend’s 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Nigeria need to win by at least two goals in Pointe Noire, to keep their slim hopes of defending their crown alive, before they tackle South Africa in Uyo, in the last match of the series.

“I have told my players to play the African way when we meet Congo Brazzaville on Saturday. We need to play hard to get the result we crave for and we should drop the European style or method and play the African way,” Keshi stated.

The Big Boss also expressed his belief, that his players have what it takes to return from Congo with all three points.

“My players have really stepped up the gear and the spirit in camp is very high. The boys have been showing the hunger and urge to get victory against Congo and by the grace of God we will get victory. Nigerians should also rally round this team and support the team with prayers and we will come back with victory,” he said.

Nigeria are third in the group with four points. South Africa lead the way in Group with eight points, followed by Congo with seven.
